This fall, Jennifer Rowley brings her “luminous” (Broadway World) and “brilliant” (Naturaosta) interpretation of Verdi’s Aida to Washington National Opera, playing October 24–November 2. It’s a signature role for the soprano, who recently bowed as Aida at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari to great acclaim, with City Notizie saying, “Jennifer Rowley embodies the Ethiopian heroine torn between love and duty, with strength and pathos.”
Rowley makes her long-anticipated house debut in Francesca Zambello’s lush and colorful production, appearing alongside Adam Smith as Radamès, with Raehann Bryce-Davis as Amneris, Shenyang as Amonasro, Morris Robinson as Ramfis, and Kevin Smith as the King. Kwamé Ryan conducts.
