House debut as Amelia in 'Simon Boccanegra' at Opera Philadelphia

On September 29 & October 1, Jennifer Rowley stars as Amelia Grimaldi in Laurence Dale’s new production of Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra at Opera Philadelphia. Rowley last sang Amelia in 2021 at Opernhaus Zürich, which was released on DVD by Accentus Music. Of her performance, Gramophone hailed, “Jennifer Rowley gives us an urgent, ably sung Amelia, her rich, slightly plummy soprano negotiating the role’s challenges well.”

Marking her debut at the house, Jennifer will share the stage with a renowned cast, including Quinn Kelsey in the title role, Christian Van Horn as Jacopo Fiesco, Richard Trey Smagur as Gabriele Adorno, Benjamin Taylor as Paolo Albiani, Cory McGee as Pietro, Robin Bier as Maid of Amelia, and Toffer Mihalka as A Captain. Corrado Rovaris conducts.
