Jennifer Rowley makes her highly anticipated return to Opernhaus Zürich to star as Amelia Grimaldi in Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra. Ms. Rowley made her role and house debut in this extraordinary Andreas Homoki production in November 2020, receiving rave reviews for her “powerful soprano ringing out brightly over full ensembles” (Limelight Magazine).
With performances on December 12, 15, 17, 22, 26, & 30, Marco Armiliato conducts a starry cast of singers, including Ludovic Tézier as the title role, Christof Fischesser as Jacopo Fiesco, Otar Jorjikia as Gabriele Adorno, Nicholas Brownlee as Paolo Albiani, Brent Michael Smith as Pietro, Bożena Bujnicka as Amelia’s maid, and Savelii Andreev as Captain of the crossbowmen.
