Jennifer Rowley opens the 2021/22 season with her highly anticipated house debut at Opéra de Rouen Normandie as her signature role of Leonora in Verdi’s Il Trovatore on September 24, 26, 28, 30, and October 2. Featuring a new futuristic production by Clarac-Deloeuil> Le Lab, the unprecedented staging explores memory in Verdi’s masterpiece with Pierre Bleuse conducting the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Rouen Normandie and Chœur accentus / Opéra de Rouen Normandie.
Ms. Rowley sings alongside Lionel Lhote as Comte de Luna, Sylvie Brunet-Grupposo as Azucena, Ivan Gyngazov as Manrico, Grigory Shkarupa as Ferrando, Aliénor Feix as Inès, and Lancelot Lamotte as Ruiz. Her recent portrayal of the Verdi heroine for her debut at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino gained critical acclaim:
