Jennifer Rowley will make her highly anticipated house and role debut as Amelia in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera on October 31 & November 2 at National Theatre Prague. Director Dominik Beneš says of the work, “The opera’s title itself evokes in me buoyant merry-making and revelry. Yet pretense and hypocrisy lead to a spine-chilling drama.” Beneš collaborates with set and costume designer Marek Cpin to capture this thrilling drama.
Jennifer shares the stage with a sparkling cast, including Peter Berger as Gustav III, Svatopluk Sem as Renato, Marie Fajtová as Oscar, and Jana Sýkorová as Ulrica. Jaroslav Kyzlink conducts the National Theater Choir and Orchestra. This occasion marks Jennifer’s first of two Verdi role debuts this season. Next, she will make her house and role debut in the title role of Verdi’s Aida at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. More information available via Jennifer’s Schedule.
