Paris debut as Leonora in Verdi's 'Il trovatore'

Jennifer Rowley travels to France this summer, to make her debut with the Opéra National de Paris as Leonora in Il trovatore with performances on June 21, 25 & 28 and July 5, 11 & 14. She shares the stage with Roberto Alagna and Yusif Eyvazov alternating as Manrico, Gabriele Viviani (Il Conte di Luna), and Ekaterina Semenchuk (Azucena), with Maestro Maurizio Benini leading from the pit.

Ms. Rowley has received international acclaim for her portrayal of this iconic Verdi heroine:

“From start to finish her Leonora was a potent and confident woman, singing passionately in her opening aria to mirror the intense love she felt for Manrico. Verdi’s vocal line ascends throughout “Tacea la notte” to mirror Leonora’s sense of hope and aspiration, and Rowley was right on point with this sense of elation.” (Operawire)

“Jennifer Rowley is perfect in the role of Leonora: her solos are real moments of bravery and she executes them with infinite delight.”
