This May, Jennifer Rowley makes a thrilling role debut as Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth, appearing for the first time at the Teatro Carlo Felice. It marks a highly anticipated house and role debut for the soprano, who has previously triumphed in dramatic Verdi heroines including the title role in Aida and Leonora in Il Trovatore.
Rowley joins a stellar cast under the baton of Sesto Quatrini and directed by Fabio Ceresa. Caterina Meldolesi shares the role of Lady Macbeth, with George Gagnidze and Stefano Meo alternating as Macbeth, Gianluca Buratto and Abramo Rosalen as Banco, Kamelia Kader as Lady Macbeth’s lady-in-waiting, and Giulio Pelligra and Vasyl Solodkyy as Macduff. The cast also features Leonardo Cortellazzi as Malcolm, Luciano Leoni as the Doctor/Assassin, Franco Rios Castro and Tiziano Tassi as Macbeth’s Servant, Matteo Armanino and Loris Purpura as the Herald, Tiziano Tassi and Bernardo Pellegrini as the First Apparition, and Lucilla Romano and Eliana Uscidda as the Second and Third Apparitions.
The soprano performs on May 15, 17, 22, and 24 at the Teatro Carlo Felice.
